My Diary is a personal app that makes keeping track of important dates and other information simple and easy. Available for both Windows and Apple devices, it also works well on Linux operating systems. Some adults might think that they are a little too old to write in a diary, but this app is more of a personal organizer than a traditional diary. Though you can use it as a diary, you can also use it to jot down quick notes, keep track of your calendar and even record passwords.

When you first open the app, you will notice that it features three different sections. The diary section consists of a large calendar with blank pages listed below each date. You can use those pages to vent your frustrations after a long day at work, to talk about a recent date you just had or to keep track of the hours you spent at work. While some users use that section as a traditional diary, others use it to keep track of notes and other data. They might record when they went to the doctor, dropped off the dry cleaning or paid the babysitter.

The second section of the app is the calendar section. Similar to a datebook, it shows you the seven days of the week and lets you flip further ahead or back in time to see the notes you left in the past. The calendar area lets you use different font types and colors to identify different notes. You might use bright red to record important events, including doctors' appointments, birthdays and anniversaries. Many users use multiple colors on a single date to keep the information from looking jumbled. You will also find a dedicated notes section for writing down simple notes for yourself.

My Diary comprises some excellent features that users love. With the email connection feature, you can actually set your app to send emails to yourself on specific dates to remind you of what you need to do that day or anything important happening on that date. A database feature gives you the option of adding birthdays and anniversaries to your calendar and getting reminders the day before those events. You can even create labels in the app to print and mail gifts to your loved ones.

As My Diary does not have an offline mode, you will find yourself manually adding new data when you go back online. It also requires that you set up reminders or check the app daily to stay on top of appointments. Despite those minor issues, My Diary is a great way to keep your passwords safe and to keep track of upcoming appointments and important dates and events.
